Over the weekend of April 25, Norwell Health Agent and longtime SSRC Board Member Ben Margro passed away at his home unexpectedly.  He was 45.

I thoroughly enjoyed working and talking with Ben.  He was brilliant, and cared deeply about his work and the environment. I will miss him, as I’m sure many of you will too.  I’m sorry for all of our loss.

Here are some pictures of Ben from our 25th “Recyclaversary”.

“Ben was a knowledgeable and professional gentleman.  He was great  to work with, whatever the project and a  valuable asset to Norwell. Ben will be missed by many who had the pleasure of knowing him.”  – Rosemary Nolan

“So young and knowledgeable. I am very sad to hear of his passing” – Jean Landis Naumann

The South Shore News reported that the April 29 Norwell Select Board meeting opened with a heartfelt moment of silence and personal reflections following (Ben’s) sudden passing. Town Administrator Darleen Sullivan thanked town employees for “stepping up” to support one another during a difficult week, noting that Margro was integral to daily operations at Town Hall. “Ben was just such a part of our town family, and we miss him. We loved him… there’s a hole here.”

Ben’s obituary is posted here.
