CURBSIDE RECYCLING (mandatory)

The town of Rockland offers weekly curbside recycling for paper, cardboard, bottles and cans to residents that pay the trash fee.   Recycling must be set out in order for trash to be collected at the curb.

Drop-off recycling is also available to all residents.

Materials collected curbside are banned by State regulation from disposal (310CMR 19.017), and are

MERCURY THERMOMETER SWAPS  á

Mercury is a heavy, toxic, silver liquid also found in thermostats, barometers and blood pressure cuffs.  It is illegal to dispose of mercury-added products in the trash.

 Bring your mercury thermometers and other mercury-containing products (excluding fluorescent tubes) to the Board of Health office during regular hours, or to Rockland's HHP Collection and receive a free digital thermometer.
